Nebraska preschool teacher retiring after 32 years

Settles' last day of preschool will be May 14 when she — with the help of area parents — takes more than 30 children to visit a farm and then to sing at the Over 60 Center and Birchwood Manor in North Bend. Preschool teacher Martha Settles smiled as she related the news while watching students play in a sandy area of her yard. After the last child left, Settles returned to the basement of her North Bend home where she has taught preschool for years. After that, they'll have a hot dog dinner at North Bend City Park and return to the preschool for Popsicles. Preschool graduation is set for 6:30 p. m. May 16 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Bend. After 32 years of teaching preschool, she is retiring. Settles acknowledged the find while other children used small plastic shovels to dig in the sand. But this will be the last year for the longtime teacher. your mom's here," Settles said in a melodic tone of voice.

Crazy Clayton

  Last year, he had it 7 times in 12 months and then he had it in January and February of this year.   Cooper has taught him to say, "Excuse me, mom", when he wants to talk to me.   He also uses the phrase "last night" quite often.   He talked a lot sooner than Cooper did.   He also talks all the time. Clayton has not had croup since February and Bryce and I consider that a real blessing from above.   In fact, in December, I talked to his doctor about going to a specialist.   Cooper didn't know what the past tense was for a long time.   Bryce and I laugh at some of the words he uses.   These are some of Claytons favorite phrases right now:  "me can't like that", "me need something" (food), "me been good"....
